HUR Australia is exhibiting at the Falls Prevention ANZFPS 2018 Conference in Hobart, 18-20 Nov.
The ANZFPS was formed in 2006 to promote the multidisciplinary study and implementation of falls prevention in older people.
Among the presenters is HUR Australia's Dr Tuire Karaharju-Huisman. She is lecturing about
- Individual Participants’ Variability in Slipping Risk Assessment – What Should We Measure and Report? and
- Estimating the Probability of Slipping – A Novel Perspective
Jennie Hewitt will be explaining the details of her recent study "Exercise To Prevent Falls – Using strength and balance training to prevent falls and improve quality of life". According to the study she found a 55% reduction of falls after strength training.
