WE ARE HAPPY TO ANNOUNCE THAT WE HAVE JUST PUBLISHED OUR NEWSLETTER 2023!
You can read it here.
This is already the sixth edition of HUR Australia Newsletter, with the first one published in 2017, inspired by the global newsletters by HUR.
Our Newsletters allow us to share stories from our customers. With installations in many sectors – 50+ gyms, community care facilities, retirement villages and residential care facilities – there are so many stories to tell and to discuss.
There is usually a common factor in the stories the clients tell, the reasons behind choosing HUR. The things that often are mentioned are safety, ease of use, automation, and data collection.
An addition to this is access to all, even to those who have never been to a gym before, and have now found exercise and a motivation to keep training as they feel the difference, the improvement in health and increase in confidence.
In all our Newsletters there are also special themes. A publication by the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) in January stated that the top fitness trend for Australia this year is Fitness for older adults.
What a boost to the industry, and definitely a proud moment for everyone who is involved in the sector!
In December 2022 Dr Jennie Hewitt started a tour of Australian cities with her “Exercise4Life – Sunbeam and Beyond” training.
This workshop, based on the protocol used in her Sunbeam strength and balance exercise program, has now been held in Melbourne, Sydney, and Brisbane, with all courses sold out. Dr Hewitt’s clinical training course will visit a few more cities this year, with bookings for the Adelaide course currently open.
We recommend booking early to secure your spot, you can book via this link, https://www.eventbrite.com/e/exercise4life-sunbeam-and-beyond-adelaide-tickets-573852457147
The Sunbeam program, with additional clinical education currently offered, is making a huge impact in the industry, with the value of strength and balance exercises seen, and services adapted by many allied health providers as well as management.
We have also introduced a new section, product news. In the recent months, our Australian research and development team, together with the team in the head office in Finland, has been working hard on further developing the Smart Balance. Together with the new look, the advanced games will allow further aspects in balance and cognitive training.
With all these stories, together with client stories and wishes from our managing director Ari, I welcome you all to read our newsletter.
And always remember, if you wish to share a story from your facility, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.
If you want to grab a printed copy of our Newsletter, come and see us at one of our exhibitions with quite a few coming up this year!
Best wishes on behalf of HUR Australia,
Dr Tuire Karaharju-Huisman, HUR Australia Newsletter editor
