Webinar – BEYOND SUNBEAM – BEST PRACTICE EXERCISE FOR OLDER ADULTS AND NEW OPPORTUNITIES AS THE AGED CARE SYSTEM REFORMS

HUR Australia is organising the free webinar on Wednesday 9th of November 3-4 PM AEST  (4-5 PM AEDT, NSW, VIC)

The inaugural conference of Aged & Community Care Providers Association (ACCPA) in Adelaide a few weeks ago was a wonderful occasion of catching up face-to-face with old friends and connecting with so many more. It was wonderful to see the strong presence of allied health, and the importance of exercise in healthy ageing.

With the Aged care reform underway, also introducing the new funding tool, AN-ACC, there seems to be a sense of uncertainty on what the role of allied health may be. However, the new funding model offers a fantastic opportunity to deliver quality, evidence-based programs that match the outcome standards recommended by the Australian Aged Care Royal Commission.

To understand the best practice exercise, and the funding possibilities, we are happy to share the news about our upcoming webinar, “Beyond Sunbeam – best practice exercise for older adults and new opportunities as the aged care system reforms”.

This webinar’s guest speaker, Dr Jennie Hewitt, lead researcher of the Sunbeam Program, will discuss the implementation, prescription, and appropriate progression of successful exercise programs for people living with complex conditions and multiple morbidities.

For clinicians we will explore evidence-based exercise for people with a cognitive impairment, sarcopenia, frailty, other complex diagnoses, and for management we will present various ways of implementing and sustainably scaling exercise programs using AN-ACC.

Registration is now closed. Click here for the Post Webinar material.
