As 2022 is coming to an end, it is time again to look back at the events of the year.
Of course, the most positive thing has been the ability to see people face-to-face. After three years it was wonderful to see all the familiar faces at several conferences and customer sites.
Conferences
The live events started in March with the DCM Group’s Leaders Summit in Sydney, followed by the ACSA National summit, held in ACT. In June it was time to meet at Gold Coast for the National Retirement Living Summit. In October the inaugural ACCPA conference was held in Adelaide, uniting LASA and ACSA as one organisation to serve the aged care sector.
It was fantastic to gather with 1800 people to discuss all things that matter, to see old friends in person and to plan future projects. The allied health presence was strong, giving hope for quality care in the future. HUR Australia’s Dr Tuire Karaharju-Huisman gave a talk about the benefits of strength training, reminding all of the scientific basis for staying strong. You can access her slides here.
In November/December DCM Institute held their multi-city village summit, allowing us to hear about the wishes and realities of retirement villages. Again, it was great to hear that active ageing, health & wellness are high on the priority list at villages, allowing people to age with good health.
Sunbeam Research and Beyond
In November we were happy to support Dr Jennie Hewitt run her clinical training course, "Exercise4Life – Beyond Sunbeam" at Europa on Alma, Bolton Clarke, in St Kilda, Melbourne. You can read our LinkedIn post here.
The feedback from the course has been great and we look forward to supporting Jennie as the course will be run in other cities in 2023. The next one will be in Sydney on February 4th 2023, and here is the event link to register.
Webinars
This year we continued with our webinars. The first webinar in May discussed Exercise as Medicine with Brad McGregor and Sam Waley, with the latter in November being a Sunbeam and AN-ACC special edition with Dr Jennie Hewitt.
Since we started, we have now held seven webinars, with a wide range of speakers and topics. All our webinars can be found on our Webinars -page here: https://www.huraustralia.com.au/webinars
Last But Not Least
This year has seen many new projects commencing, and existing businesses expand as people have returned to the gyms. We now have over 400 Installations around Australia, ranging from 50+ fitness and rehabilitation to aged care. We love to share the stories from our clients. You can read some of them from our Newsletters, or our Testimonials.
We sincerely want to thank all our supporters and wish you a relaxing festive season and a healthier new year!
With warm Christmas wishes,
