Research evidence, clinical experiences and product updates
We are so excited to invite you all to our HUR Day to be held at Avanti Southport, on Friday October 16th at 12-4 pm.
The purpose of this seminar afternoon is to meet with our clients to share the most up-to-date knowledge on the research evidence and clinical experiences, as well as introduce everyone to our new products and software solutions.

It has been a busy year with many new solutions. In April HUR Cardio was launched. The HUR cardio collection includes a variety of pieces – upright bike, recumbent bike, elliptical trainer, recumbent elliptical trainer as well as a treadmill. All pieces are smart touch supported, easily included in the full exercise program, with a wide selection of exercise programs. You can see all pieces in action in this video, or you can see me introducing the pieces in these short clips.
During our latest conferences we have had our new smart touch screen on display. The screen is larger in size but also includes new training features.
We have also introduced a Health Station that allows for an easy body composition analysis using a Tanita, immediately integrated into the client’s profile.
We will have all these pieces at the HUR Day, for you to try out and learn more about.

The introduction of the cardio pieces and health station, allow us to create a full HUR Eco System. The full system that includes assessment, strength and cardio system as well as a comprehensive software solution, allows for evidence-based, independent exercise and rehabilitation.
The data gained truly is powerful – for the client and the trainer, yet many don’t use the data. Thus, we want to take a moment to discuss the power of data in every training process.
We are extremely happy to introduce our two visiting speakers.
Professor Justin Keogh is an exercise scientist, and is the Associate Dean of Research and the Head of Exercise and Sport Science, Faculty of Health Sciences and Medicine at Bond University. His research focuses on better understanding the relationship between muscle mass, strength and physical performance in athletes as well as older adults at risk of disability and poor health outcomes.
His recent research and advocacy focus has been on sarcopenia, the progressive loss of muscle mass, muscular strength and physical performance, focusing on sarcopenia epidemiology in residential aged care, the SARC-F as a sarcopenia screening tool and the benefits and translational ability of progressive balance and resistance training. In order to better translate the research evidence, he also uses a variety of qualitative approaches to better understand the determinants of physical activity and exercise in a variety of older adult groups.
Justin also runs the Stronger Through the Ages podcast together with Dr Tim Henwood discussing the many benefits of exercise for older adults—especially the power of weight-bearing and resistance training. The podcast dives into the science, stories, and strategies behind helping older adults stay strong, independent, and thriving.

Justin is a sought-after speaker with a passion for strength training, healthspan and strengthpan. He has also appeared on one of our webinars, discussing strength training in the community.
Richelle Street is as an Accredited Exercise Physiologist with 15 years of work experience in Aged Care, currently working and coordinating the Exercise Physiology Allied Health Discipline within Blue Care. Richelle has developed numerous tools for AEPs to use across their work within the Aged Care Sector, including a telehealth delivery of the Sunbeam protocol.
Richelle’s compassion, dedication and professional practice as an accredited exercise physiologist has been recognised in its highest regard by the industry, whereby Richelle was awarded Australian Exercise Physiologist of the Year in 2014, and also being a finalist multiple years. Richelle’s work and Aged Care journey as an AEP has also featured in multiple national magazines including ESSA activate and The Australian Aging Agenda(AAA). In this video interview Richelle explains the life changing effect of exercise.
Richelle was also a guest speaker in our Muscles Matter webinar together with Professor Robin Daly. You can access the webinar here.
