HUR Webinar – Let’s talk about balance

HUR Australia is hosting a free Webinar on Wednesday 9th of August at 4-5 PM (AEST)

Let’s talk about balance –Training Principles and Clinical Considerations

Balance training is an important part of many areas of rehabilitation, including sports injuries, falls prevention, vestibular and concussion rehabilitation. Traditionally balance training includes both static and dynamic exercises, such as standing on different surfaces in different postures and positions, as well as performing different exercises with movement, such as stepping.

In our August webinar we are happy to welcome two world known speakers from different areas of rehabilitation to discuss balance training – the training principles and clinical applications used in their research and clinical practice.

Dr Melanie Farlie will discuss the benefits of measuring the intensity of balance training and will also present “The Balance Intensity Scale”, the world’s first objective measure of balance exercise intensity, based on the research finding of her doctoral thesis.

Mr Alexander Ring is one of Australia’s most known clinical vestibular physiotherapy experts. His expertise and research has also extended his scope of practice into prolonged concussion with Autonomic, Vestibulo-Occular and Exertion intolerance.

In response to the growing request for balance training solutions, HUR has updated the look, function and software for SmartBalance, with the inclusion of new training games targeting cognitive health and falls prevention, among others.

In this webinar HUR Australia’s Dr Tuire Karaharju-Huisman will also give a brief summary of the new inclusions in the HUR SmartBalance setup.
