I’m so excited to share that our second Newsletter of 2025 has just been published! In the past, we have shared our News stories annually, but by dividing the articles to two publications, we have an opportunity to not just share stories from our clients, but also to share stories from special occasions, education and product developments. You can find the Newsletter on our website via this link, but you can also pick up a printed copy from our booth at the Ageing Australia conference to be discussed later in this blog.
This edition includes client stories from all areas of aged care – community health, retirement, and residential aged care. Every story presented highlights the importance of exercise to ageing well. The inclusion of a designated exercise facility supports a holistic health and wellbeing model that enhances not just strength, but also quality of life of every resident and client, from the frailest to the strongest, as described in our client stories. We are grateful to all our clients – ACH Group (SA), Eventide Homes (Vic), supported by Guide Health, Benetas Dalkeith Heights (Vic), and Queen Victoria Care (Tas) for sharing their stories!
A successful exercise program is based on evidence-based recommendations and a proven model of clinical practice supported by an allied health team. Whilst research exist, this message is not always considered; health literacy needs to be shared far and wide so that everyone can gain their best health. The inaugural Positive Ageing Summit managed to gather the best people, truly creating a tribe of passionate professionals from all areas of the industry: researchers, managers, policy makers and clinicians. The event was a true success, and we are happy to announce that the team behind the events is already busy preparing for the 2026 Summit, that you can read more about our centre story on page 6-7.
The conference was also a great launch for a podcast by the summit’s main keynote speaker Dr Justin Keogh, and his equality passionate strength training supporter, Dr Tim Henwood. Their podcast, Stroger through the ages, shares the many aspects of exercise, from evidence to practical hints, to make the principles accessible to all, whilst motivating everyone to make exercise part of their life to maximise the best health for all. This podcast is definitely worth listening to!
The advancements in technology allow us to make training easier whilst also providing everyone the data that allows us to see the training outcomes that motivate us to keep training. When developing new functions, we work with our customers who share our passion for providing the best solutions possible for lifelong strength and wellbeing, contributing to the wonderful mission; improving and changing lives, extending lifespan. On page 10, you can read more about our technical solutions.
As I am writing this, we are getting closer to one of the largest events of the year, Ageing Australia National Conference. This year’s theme, “Meeting the moment. Shaping the future”, reflects the many challenges Aged Care is facing now – a once-in-a-generation reform, the growing expectations towards the change, and a required commitment to supporting older Australians through every stage of ageing. The conference hopes to discuss how the industry can stay responsive to the changing landscape, embrace innovation in care models, digital solutions, design, workforce, culture and community.
